13 Aug Construction is underway for the new Dressler’s venture, Dogwood Southern Table + Bar
The 4,100-square-foot restaurant at Sharon Square is targeting an early-November opening.
Sharon Square, a mixed-use development, is at Sharon and Fairview roads.
“We are very excited to embark on the construction of Dogwood. As we speak, we are fine tuning both our dining and beverage menus,” says Jon Dressler, who will co-own the venture with wife Kim.
Hiring for the restaurant will begin soon, he adds.
Dogwood will offer “elevated Southern comfort food” in a casual environment.
That means the menu will feature familiar items such as fried green tomatoes, corn and butter bean succotash, N.C. shrimp and grits and slow-braised beef brisket, ribs and prime rib.
Jon Dressler notes the beverage menu will include specialties such as Cheerwine in glass bottles, French press coffee and infused drinks from blends made in-house.
“We look forward to expanding the Dressler culture of great food, warm service in a comfortable setting to SouthPark,” Dressler says.
This will be the third restaurant for the Dresslers, following ventures in Huntersville’s Birkdale Village and the Metropolitan in Charlotte.
Turner Construction Co. is the contractor for the project, which was designed by Overcash Demmitt Architects. Both companies are based in Charlotte.
