09 Jul Piedmont Social House Now Open In Ayrsley
Piedmont Social House is open for business in southwest Charlotte.
The 24,000-square-foot restaurant and entertainment venue is in the Ayrsley development. It is located at 2135 Ayrsley Town Blvd.
The space combines a number of concepts, bringing together a bowling alley, pub, restaurant and plenty of gathering space for socializing — all under one roof.
“We wanted it to be approachable, and we achieved that,” says William Hodges, broker of business development for New Forum.
New Forum, one of the main developers of Ayrsley, is behind the project.
Ayrsley is a 185-acre mixed-use development at the intersection of South Tryon Street and Interstate 485. It includes office and retail space, more than 1,000 homes and apartments and a 14-screen movie theater.
Piedmont Social House aims to be a neighborhood hangout that can accommodate office lunches and birthday parties. Outside, a 5,000-square-foot patio will serve as a gathering place.
“We definitely hope to appeal to the happy-hour crowd,” Hodges says.
There are 12 lanes for bowling, as well as areas dedicated to pool, darts, pingpong and shuffleboard. An arcade features retro games such as Ms. Pac-Man and Mortal Kombat. There are lounge areas, including an upstairs section that has the feel of a living room, complete with a television.
Overcash Demmitt Architects designed the project. Concorde Construction served as general contractor. Consulting was provided by John Holden of JWH Consulting, which offers consulting and management services for “new age” bowling centers.
