Our History
In 1984, Stephen Overcash opened Overcash Demmitt Architects with longtime partner Tim Demmitt.
They are pictured here at their offices in the Carillon building in Uptown Charlotte, where they resided for 8 years.
In 2005, they moved to their current office in at 2010 South Tryon Street in the Historic South End District of Charlotte, just minutes from Charlotte’s center city.
Tim Demmitt retired in 2019, and the firm name was changed to ODA Architecture. Today, the leadership team includes 4 Principals with varying expertise, including Stephen Overcash, Managing Principal.
ODA values its clients and works to turn your vision into a memorable place.
The construction process is complex. Our team will be your partner every step of the way, designing and overseeing your vision. Our knowledge, efficiency, and service are extensive, from master planning and building design to managing the rezoning and permitting process. ODA respects your time and investment and our communication is key throughout the project.

Our office is in Charlotte’s historic South End, just minutes from the center city. Within ODA’s office is Club 2010 — our in house gather place for staff socials, client gatherings and outreach events.
